Septic System Design

A permit from the local municipality or principal authority is required prior to any construction, significant alteration, upgrades or replacement of a system that collects or disposes of waste water, grey water and toilet effluents from isolated dwellings, buildings or campgrounds. Joshua Armitage can inspect the site and design the system to meet the provincial regulations, making your permit application proceed as smoothly as possible and ensuring your system operates as intended.

Filter Sand Analysis

Filter sand used for raised or in-ground filter bed type septic systems must be within a particular grain size envelope to ensure proper treatment and sufficient flow. Josh Armitage's soil lab, including a soil sieve set for particle size distribution of the sand material and a hydrometer for particle size distribution of the silt and clay portion, has the ability to determine if your batch of sand is suitable filter material.

Grading Plans

A grading plan identifies the slope and drainage of the property. Examples of projects that may require a grading plan are a new building, an addition, hard landscaping, or any proposed work close to a property line. Contact Joshua Armitage to develop your grading plan and ensure the surface drainage within your property is directed to a suitable outlet and that there are no adverse impacts on the adjacent properties.
